Carna Biosciences and ChemDiv, Inc. have announced the signing of a collaboration agreement to form a partnership to develop and market annotated kinase focused libraries targeting kinases for various pathways and disease areas of which have been difficult for industry to produce drug candidates to date.

Carna Biosciences, Ginkgo Biomedical Research Institute Co., Ltd. (presently SBI Biotech Co., Ltd.) and CrystalGenomics, Inc. have agreed on collaboration research on the discovery of drug candidate compounds against targetted kinase of Cdc7-ASK. Cdc7-ASK is reported to be important target as anticancer drug.

The companies aim to obtain hit compounds within 1 year and complete optimization process to obtain novel candidate compound within 2 years.

The candidate compound obtained from the collaboraion research will be jointly owned by 3 companies.

Carna Biosciences, Oncotherapy Science, Inc. and CrystalGenomics, Inc. formed collaborative relationship to discover novel hits against the targeted 2 types of protein kinases, identified by Oncotherapy Sciences, Inc. which are effective and highly selective for cancer.

Carna Biosiences is responsible for kinase production, assay development and screening while CrystalGenomics, Inc. is responsible for virtual screening, kinase library development and crystallography.

The candidate compounds obtained from the collaborative research will be jointly owned by 3 companies.
